When we first previewed the Regent Suite, an ultra-luxe space on the Regent Seven Seas Explorer, we called it "The Most Baller Suite at Sea." Now, in an exclusive for Traveler, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has shared details on a version of the suite on its newest ship, the 750-passenger Seven Seas Splendor—itself billed as the world’s most luxurious—and it's even more OTT, if you can imagine.

"No expense was spared," says Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, in creating the palatial two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom suite—which comes with a price tag of $11,000 per night for two. Guests will be able to lounge on custom-made furniture under golden chandeliers, receive unlimited massages in their private spa, and rest their heads on a $200,000 bed. They’ll also get front row views—from both a private solarium and huge veranda with hot tub—as their ship pulls into places such as Monte Carlo and St. Barts.

Does it sound like too much? Does it matter? Well-heeled guests are already eating it up. According to officials from the cruise line, the 4,443-square-foot suite is sold out for much of the ship’s inaugural season. The ship doesn't debut until February 2020.

Designer Paulina Błasiak, of Tillberg Design of Sweden, shared details about the elite retreat she helped create. In the master bedroom she went extreme, putting guest experience at the core of her choices. The result? A king-sized bed handmade in Sweden by Hästens. Four artisans put in more than 300 hours creating it, installing its steel springs and layers of flax, horsetail hair, and cotton and wool batting. “It will be the most comfortable bed at sea,” Błasiak says.

The master bathroom includes its own spa done up in marble, stonework, and gilded accents, with a sauna and two heated relaxation loungers. Guests can catch ocean views from the large, glass-enclosed shower. Therapists from the ship’s Canyon Ranch SpaClub are available to stop by and deliver complimentary treatments, which the space can easily accommodate.

On the wraparound veranda—clocking in at 1,300 square feet—guests can catch unobstructed views over the ship’s bow, even when sitting in the outdoor Treesse hot tub. Watch the sunset with a bottle of complimentary Veuve Clicquot at the ready. If you don’t want to muss your hair with ocean breezes, you can catch the same views that the captain sees on the bridge from the suite’s glass-enclosed solarium sitting area—while the dedicated head butler assigned to the suite proffers your preferred beverage.

Invite friends to feast on caviar and lobster in the lavish dining room, designed for entertaining, where you’ll find one of Błasiak's favorite items: a counter made of back-lit onyx and mirrored glass. “It like a piece of art,” she says. Guests may also enjoy the grand piano in the living room, which the cruise line tells us will be surrounded by “priceless” artworks (details on those, though, still TBD).

Yet these creature comforts are not the only bonus for Regent Suite guests: That one-percenter rate also comes with first-class airfare for domestic flights and a private car with driver at every port of call. Regent Seven Seas Splendor debuts in Europe in February 2020, heads to Miami for the winter season, then returns in late April, sailing European itineraries with stops to the Greek Isles, French Riviera, Iberian Peninsula, United Kingdom and more.
