[Voice Over] For Conde Nast Traveler annual hotlist,

we crisscrossed the globe to compile the sexiest,

most service driven,

and downright coolest hotel openings

from all around the world.

Here, the birth of a modern classic in Charleston,

a stylish new spot in a Dallas skyscraper,

and the revival of a private island in Florida

are three of the knockout entries

on this year's hotlist.

We like to say that the Emeline

is full of little surprises.

Through the grand doorway,

a gracious lobby designed by hospitality titans,

MAKEREADY, is the ideal place

to slowly sip the welcome cocktail

you're handed at check-in.

Oh! And while there,

don't miss that mesmerizing iron work staircase

that leads to the balcony.

This is Charleston, a town for foodies,

and every hotelier knows

that any property worth itself

has to have a restaurant that the locals

are wanting to eat in.

Frannie & The Fox has cool, dim lighting,

comfy leather chairs,

and a fabulous inner courtyard.

Even still, the selling point is anything

that comes out of Chef Tim Morton's kitchen,

which includes mind-blowing blue crab fritters.

Whatever you get,

add a pizza to your order,

which is served fresh from the wood-fired oven,

the centerpiece of his kitchen.

The rooms have the same sharp, urban vibes

as the common spaces,

with sofas, exposed lights,

and ginormous walk-in showers.

A super cool feature?

The 500 strong vinyl collection

with record players in the rooms.

[enchanting music]

Things get even more metropolitan

with the Thompson Dallas,

set inside a skyscraper known as The National

which used to be the tallest building

west of the Mississippi.

The long narrow lobby is lined

with bookshelves and ceramic works.

Also, check out those Texas-sized fabulous chandeliers.

The pool is essential to beat the Texan heat.

It has fun cabanas and a sun lounging deck

should you want a day's rest

from shopping up a storm

at the nearby Neiman Marcus.

And, crucially, you won't go hungry here.

In fact, you may even considered

tacking on a night or two

just to eat your way through all its restaurants.

There is the elegant Japanese lounge, kessaku,

serving sushi and sake,

though Catbird is the table to book

if you only have one shot.

For its sexy leather booth,

small plates, and excellent cocktails,

this is where you are most likely

to run into a Dallas influencer

or a group of girlfriends out for a night.

Honoring the building 60s roots,

furniture in the rooms

have a mad man meets urban cowboy vibe

with brass accents and lots of cow print and leather.

And of course, a deep sinking tub

positioned right at the window

for dazzling city views as you soak.

[light bright music]

You won't see that bright lights of downtown

at this reborn, adults only, private island

in the Florida Keys,

were a motor yacht whisks you away from the airport.

Your first stop at Little Palm Island

feels like a Hemingway escape in every way.

Down to the check-in desk,

which doubles as a four bar stool bar,

serving a mean Gumby Slumber.

Once on the retreat,

you will be surrounded by tropical water,

but the first place to check out

is the chic pool deck,

where you can sip cocktails all day

from the palapa bar

and be with an earshot of the Atlantic.

Its shores just a few steps away.

Once out of the sun,

the retreats iconic Great Room

is the place for reading, playing board games

or just catching an afternoon snooze

on the comfy sofas.

Oh! And it is the only place

anywhere in the island with the television,

but we have no doubt

the atmosphere and conversation with fellow guests

won't make you even think about switching it on.

The dining room is an elegant Floridian space

with ceiling fans and high, neutral ceilings

that serves very good local fish,

like Key West pink shrimp

and yellowtail snapper.

If wanting to turn the fancy up a notch,

asked to do dinner out on the sandbar.

A definite selling point is the new SpaTerre,

set in a breezy, two-storey atrium

and offering everything from Biologique facials

to CBD treatments.

It is almost as relaxing

as your personal thatched roof villa.

There are 30 of them on the island,

each with water views, outdoor showers

and fully furnished terraces that bring home

the tropical chic vibes found throughout.

All are spectacular,

but the Island Premier Suites

may be the pick of the lot.

Conde Nast Travelers Hotlist

is the final word in hotels

that are so thoughtfully done,

a stay becomes a little vacation

all its own.
